The truth is, there's still a lot of hate and discrimination happening against the AAPI community. It's something we can't ignore. That's why we've partnered with Stop AAPI Hate, an incredible organization that's all about addressing and fighting the rise in anti-Asian hate incidents.
Here's a shocking fact: Asian Americans are the least likely to report hate crimes compared to any other ethnic group. Only around 30% of the AAPI community speaks up, making an already marginalized group even more invisible as victims. It's a problem we wanted to tackle head-on.
To create change, these experiences must first be seen. So we created a film for AAPI Heritage Month that highlights this lesser-known fact and empowers Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to be seen, to be heard, to take up space.
Reporting hate incidents enables Stop AAPI Hate to advocate for the passage of local, state, and national policies that strengthen human rights and civil rights protections, dismantle systemic racism harming AAPI communities, and address root causes of discrimination and bigotry.
